Awareness | Mind | Body connection

If you are into movement, sport and fitness you probably hear those words all the time.

What is it?

A skill. Yes, it's a skill that you can develop.

Being aware of your body and your muscles (of course not all the hundred muscles we have, but the bigger one 😉) means you can you know exactly what and how to move without looking.

How to develop it?

Usually athletes develop it from a very young age.

Here are a few tips to work on it as an adult:

  • Try to isolate each part of your body. For example- Can you rotate the pelvic outside and inside without moving any other part?

  • Film yourself while an exercise/movement. Think what you want to achieve, how you want it to look, have the image in your head. After filming explore if you succeed and applied what you wanted.

  • Break Down movements. Whether you do strength training, dancing or every other sport, understand the movement. Which joints and muscles work, what is the our goal/ target muscle, where the movement starts and ends.
